Margaret was born and raised right here in beautiful Northern New Mexico to a single mother. Growing up, she spent a lot of time with her grandparents, who taught her the importance of honesty, integrity, and hard work, valuing education above all else.
 

Her bachelor's and master's degrees in business from New Mexico State University were made possible by Pell grants and her mother's hard work.
 

After a brief career in business and at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Margaret joined her mother in their family farming business in 1991, and also started a cooking school. Farming and running a small business in northern New Mexico can be challenging, so she was fortunate to work at LANL during the winter months for 12 years. Since then, she worked in various roles in finance, project management, and operations in different sectors, including for-profit and non-profit organizations, as well as in federal, state, local, and tribal government settings.
 

As a mother of two, Margaret is grateful to have raised a farmer and a future engineer and project manager. She comes from a long line of farmers who have always respected and valued each other, our land, water, and traditions. That's why she believes in leading by example.
 

Currently, Margaret farms with her son and runs a management consulting business. Her consultancy mainly focuses on providing community assessments, strategic planning, and personalized business and financial consulting services to tribal entrepreneurs.

Margaret is running for State Representative to protect our Northern New Mexico traditions, and give our people the strong voice they deserve in the Legislature, while making the district the best place to live, work and raise a family.
